In this 3 Week Inquiry Unit we explored "Home Sweet Home" for animals and plants. That's right, we learned about Habitats! In this mini unit we looked at what might be inside and around a habitat.
What are Habitats?
In this lesson students explored what habitats are and what different habitats look like along with what animals and plants might live there. Students explored ideas with me as we went through habitats and anything they could think about habitats and comparing them to human habitats.

Human Effects:
Students explored Human Effects on habitats and what it meant for animals, plants and their homes. Students discussed what was happening and how they might be able to help. Then as a class we went through the Cause and Effects worksheet, where students read the passage and then had to determine if the animal was thriving, threatened, endangered, or extinct.

Creating Habitats Project!
In this 3 day lesson we used all different types of resources to create a habitat! Ahead of time, students were able to pick and study an animal/plant that they were interested in and do some research on it to learn about where it lives, what it eats (and what eats it), and anything else they might want to add into it's habitats.
